My Role As A Life Coach

  1. My role as a life coach involves me organising systems for collecting in information to assess the suitability of the client.  It requires me to collect agreements from the client where the client is not only agreeing with my terms but is making a commitment to themselves to see things through.
  2.  It requires me to build rapport with the client, so they are safe enough to share some of their inner most fears and feelings.
  3.  It requires me to show up with the clients in a cheerleader type style, believing in them and offering them empathy, nurturing, respect, support and motivation along the way. It is being with them, but not doing it for them. Walk beside you, not in front or behind. After all, it is your life.
  4. The role of a coach is to use questions rather than advise. The client must come up with their solutions and do what feels right for them. Regardless of how a coach may want to tell a client what to do. That is respect.
  5. A coach will have coaching terms to place the boundaries and expectations of the relationship from the start and will ensure they are adhered to. Leading the way and walking the talk. Ensuring that there is a clear guideline with what time and communication methods are accepted to keep the balance.
  6. A life coach would ideally have their own life coach as well and always be checking themselves on their behaviour, conduct and own values and vision.
  7. The role of a life coach is one of trust and therefore a life coach must always be authentic and live a life congruent to what they teach. The responsibility they choose to hold is one that should be treated with he utmost respect.

WTF is Life Coaching Anyway?

  • Life coaching is supporting a person to know that they have everything they need within themselves to live a life that they enjoy. It is coming up with tools, systems, programmes and structures that support them while they find the inner confidence, strength and wisdom.

  • Life coaching guides people with questions so they can identify their weaknesses and come up with their own solutions on how to solve these weaknesses.

  • Life coaching allows a person a safe space to feel seen, heard and understood soothing the emotional brain which then allows the behavioural part of the brain get to work.

  • Life coaches will work with a client to assist them to uncover what they truly desire in life and identify what stops them from pursuing this. Uncovers what the values are for that person and encourages them with structure to start to move closer to these visions.

  • A life coach will remind the client what it is the client has been working towards when the client forgets and serve as non-judgemental and non-bias sounding board.

  • A life coach will identify weaknesses and suggest what they have identified to the client for the client to consider.

  • Life coaches offer a variety of working styles. Some work one on one, some face to face. Others in groups or workshops, and some via the internet. There is no one size fits all. Multi media has a huge influence these days and a lot of coaches offer free content and share their personal experiences, trial and triumphs.

  • A life coach generally has a burning desire to see people fulfilled and living happily and gets great satisfaction seeing people feel more emotionally fulfilled.

  • A life coach does not offer medical advice or focus on mental health illnesses.

  • A lot of life coaches have been faced with rock bottom. Have experienced hardships and heartache in their lives and have used this pain and turned it into a way to inspire other people to get through their own rock bottoms. Although some life coaches prefer to work with people more so in a business sense or from going from good, to great. Moving up to the next level. Either way, what ever niche a life coach operates from the desire is always to support and encourage the client to move up to the next, freer and more fulfilled version of themselves.

About Me Being Me

Hey you guys,

Allow me to introduce myself officially

My name is April and I hail from the land of the long white cloud. I am born and bred around the Auckland, Tauranga and Hamilton Areas – New Zealand yeah.

I am currently 36 years of age and live with my 7-year-old.

My vision in life is to be teaching people how to first love themselves so they can parent consciously so that we can raise our children stronger and more balanced than maybe we were raised.

I have always felt compelled to support people emotionally and have always been an empath. I will pick up people’s feelings and it took a long time for me to learn how not to take that feeling on.

I did not pursue my childhood dream of being a relationship counsellor and child psychologist because I did not think I had the strength to separate those feelings

I have always been the person people come to speak of their feelings and problems, and I have always enjoyed it.

Working in Isagenix I spent 2 years coaching my team and running weekly group zoom calls. I spoke on the stage and ran weekly events.

I have been to Tony Robbins, Land Mark, Master Your Influence Retreat and Workshop and read copious amounts of self-development books. I believe in the law of attraction, the dimensions, all things energy and am certified reiki 1 and access consciousness bars. I don’t genuinely do these for other people, just myself and my daughter or close ones.

My top 6 values in life

·         Mummy Daughter (Conscious Parenting)

·         Body (Health)

·         Heart Truth (Dimensional)

·         Communication (Coaching)

·         Being Me (Freedom)

·         Unconditional (Confidence)

I believe the children are the future. And I believe that I will impact this country’s everyday people to gain confidence in being who they are, and to fall asleep at night knowing they did their best with their children.

Your Body And Confidence

Everything that goes in and everything that comes out of my body. This is by far my weakest kept value to date. Mind, Body, Soul. My body needs me to feed her the foods that allow her to operare at her full potential.

Using energy work like Usui Reiki (certified level 1), Access consciousnes bars (Certified),  Accupuncture (upcoming)) and the likes to ensure that its not just my physical body that I am looking after.

Do you hear what you body is trying to tell you?

Use Your Communication To Elicit Hope

Elicit hope from within, using seen and unseen modalities. Encourage myself and other people to be who they are and evoke their inner strength to raise our children like the mix of fire, water, earth and air that they truly are.

Coaching and guiding other people back into thier knowing and offering them support and hope when they are running low on theres.

Writing. Journalling. Creating books and ultimately children’s books. Sharing my ramblings with people.

Do you realise just how powerful words are?

Confidence To Be You

I cant sing. I swear alot. Sometimes I don’t brush my hair. I’m over weight and I’m far too serious. But I also love to sing into a hairbrush, dance like a dick, laugh too much at inappropriate times, stay up far too late reading guidance cards for my gfs and smiles at strangers.

I am me. I yell, I motherse. I drink cacao, I drink bourbon. I’ve been in love, I’ve had my heart broken.  I cry and I laugh. Embracing my light and dark, accepting my happy and unhappy, learning to roll with the punches is about trusting that I am a soul having a human experience. Love of the self is the ultimate goal. I will never claim to be perfect or ‘healed’. I claim to be all of me, living out loud and giving no fucks about fitting in and projecting a certain image. I am perfectly imperfect.

How much are you being you, and how much are you being what everyone else has told you to be?
